i want to record a video or my online character while playing.. whats the best software to use?

i mean like i want the external monitor for: play games like runescape and guild wars, and searching the web and stuff.

but i want the laptop’s screen to only open stuff like when changing settings, like opening settings and pictures and all but to open games or internet or videos.

when i go onto any online games the tower on my pc starts making a screeching noise?.it starts doing it every few seconds,then continuous until i need to reboot my pc to stop the noise?…iv had no problems with it in the past and my pc is only one year old?
its worse now…i cant even do a disc and defragg or virus scan without it making this noise…its really annoying..please help!!!

I tried downloading java sun but it says that its been block by my security zone…then i follow the steps to allow it to install but firefox still wont let me….im tired of going threw problems with java sun…is there another program i could use to play games online??

I generally just get some kind of “oops your system does not meet requirements” message. I have linnux mint and firefox and I mostly can do everything online I used to do with windows including watching video. I don’t know why I can’t seem to get into these games. Any ideas?
