Looking for something free, safe, and fun for your kids to do can be challenging, especially if you are looking online.  Many Game sites on the Internet are filled with harmful downloads that can damage your computer, or are geared for teens and may not be appropriate for the younger crowd.  When choosing a game site for your child there are a few things you should consider.
Games should be able to be played online not downloaded. It is really not a good idea to allow your child to download large numbers of games to your computer; it will slow your computer down, and eventually bring it to a halt.  If you do allow them to do downloads, be certain of the source they are downloading from and insist they stick to a preset limit.
Spend some time on the sites your child will be visiting, many of them have forums or places for children to interact which is fine, just be sure that the crowd your child will be spending time around is age appropriate and that you or another parent is available to monitor his activities.
Sites with too many pop ups or ads can cause problems if your computer is not up to it, so look for sites where ads are not intrusive. Also pay attention to the types of ads; nothing is worse than getting a mailbox full of spam because junior decided to put your email in every box that popped up.
While you’re at it set some rules about what is appropriate and what is not, remind your child never to give out any personal information on the internet ever. Help them to create a special online name that they will always use for signing up at various sites.
We reviewed several sites and came up with 5 that we liked best.
Kidz Pages: On entering this site the first thing you will notice is how bright and colorful it is, you are not instantly attacked by pop-ups or flash elements and the advertising is tastefully done.  Along the top you will find a menu filled with arcade games, learning games, clip art just for kids, coloring pages, puzzles, downloads and more. This site will appeal to kids thru grade six.
Nick Jr - These sites are perennial favorites for all ages, they do have downloadable games but they also have games that are onsite, be sure to set ground rules ahead of time.  Nick jr has color pages, crafts and other activities as well as games and is geared to the 6 and younger crowd. Nick is aimed at the 7 and up crowd and is filled with games, Ezines, shows and more.
Yahoo Kids Yahoo- has been around a long time, and Yahoo Kids is a wonderful resource for kids and parents alike.  Again the games on this site are both online and downloadable trials so be sure to look thru this site with your child before turning them loose.  In addition to several genres of online games for all ages, this site also has a study zone filled with videos and links to sites around the internet offering your child help on their homework. Be sure to check out their parent section which covers the very important topic of online safety.
Fun Brain: This site aims at being educational as well as fun.  They feature arcade games, both regular and those geared at improving your math skills.  They also have puzzle games like Sudoku, reading such as comics and movies to watch.  They cater to grades k-8 and have specific activities geared to both boys and girls. Fun Brain has found a way to bring the fun into learning.
Funschool: This site is part of the Kaboose website, and features a huge assortment of activities for your preschooler and grade school age child. The site is colorful and busy, advertising is minimal and discreet. They offer games, word puzzles, coloring, and interactive polls and home work help. Funschool also has a new and free multiplayer online game called Minyanland that teaches kids about money. There is a section for parents and teachers as well that helps you integrate their fun and learning time.
There is so much to do and see at these five sites it will keep your child occupied for hours, and the best part about it is that your child will be learning and not even realize it!

i want to know what are the best websites for free online games

The commercial potential hidden in the ever growing online gaming market has been known to marketers for a long time. It is known that millions of people around the world are playing different types of online games. The wide range of available games – from single player trivia, puzzle, sports and casino games to classic multi player games such as backgammon and chess to massive role playing and strategy games like World of Warcraft and Lineage – attracts diverse variety of players.

Recent surveys show that online gaming is not an exclusive territory of 25-35 males. More than 50% of women at the same age are playing online games on a regular basis, plus a decent percentage of older (and of course, younger) men and women are also preoccupied in the internet gaming world. For marketers, these numbers mean unique opportunity to expose all kinds of products to millions of potential customers.

Marketers use variety of online marketing techniques to approach the massive crowd of online gamers including traditional advertisements and more creative and advanced types of online marketing tools. From chewing gums to automobiles through anti-depression drugs, it seems like everyone is after the online gamers’ attention.

One of the most common ways to promote a brand is by online games. For example, the Chrysler Group, the owner of the Dodge brand, has an exclusive game website dedicated to racing games, in which the player can drive the company latest models, and if played well, the players are rewarded with a HEMI® Power Bonus!

Online Pool as a Test Case

Let’s say that you want to shoot some pool online. By clicking “online pool” on one of the biggest internet search engines, you will find two major food manufacturers battling for the opportunity to promote their brands on your virtual pool table.

The giant chewing gum company Wrigley’s is the sponsor of the popular gaming portal, mostly known for its online billiard games. Once you’ve entered Candystand virtual pool room, you will be asked to customize your playing able from a selection of three designs, each one represents a different chewing gum brand, which its logo is spread all over the pool table. Will you consider chewing an Ice Breakers later?

You will be facing the same dilemma if you choose to play at Nabisco World. However, if you go for the most popular choice today, Yahoo! Pool, you won’t be able to escape advertisements as well; right after you’ve registered and before entering the desired game room, you’ll be hit by Yahoo! Games’ sponsors’ messages.

As you can see, today’s marketers have learned how to take advantage

(not necessarily in the negative meaning) of the increasing interest in online games. From industries tycoons to small, local businesses, most of them came to the conclusion that online gaming marketing is far more affective and profitable than advertisement campaigns.

Also have a router but don’t have a clue how to set it up nor do I really want to because I thought it was as simple as just inserting the firewire connetion to the pc and PS3 and I’m then able to play my games online. Any idea how I can do that? Or if I indeed have set up my router, how do I do that?

Which are the questions every webmaster is asking himself everyday? How can I get new users? How can I make them come back to my site? How can I make them stay longer?

According to the last rumors, time spent on a site will become the real criterion to understand which are successful sites or not. Nilesen/NetRatings will begin tracking how long visitors spend at the sites. The move by Nielsen/NetRatings comes as online video and new technologies increasingly make page views less meaningful. Very soon “time parameter” will be much more important than page views or unique visitors to award the most popular sites on web.

This new parameter will make necessary users to be entertained as longer as possible on the site. In this article, I’d like to suggest to webmasters one of the most convincing method to increase time spent on a site (and also make them constant users of the site).

The secret lies on contents since content is king: you should give users funny and high quality contents that will be able to involve users on the community of the site, of which he/she will become an important part.

Generally speaking, webmasters should try to give substance to their site: many webmasters take for granted that this is the way to follow, but looking at many online sites, everyone can understand that it is not so clear for everyone. There are thousands of sites without any kind of communicative target or aim, without coherence or essence.

Good webmasters know the great value of community tool used till now: newsletter, chat and forum are the mainly used tools to fidelize users. But now, the same goal can be achieved with less time and in a more effective way using new tools which are having a great develop in the last period.

And what is better than giving users the possibility to play, have fun and challenge many other people directly online?

Online games are extremely good contents to increase widely time spent on a site and, if they are multiplayer games, they are able to create a real community: users play, challenge each other, save their scores and climb charts. Daily online “rendezvous” will become a necessity for them.

There are many and many online games that can be inserted on a site, but today I’d like to suggest to every webmaster a high quality platform with a simple affiliation system, that allows everyone to display many different games on the site.

This affiliation program is offered by the online game site www.popyeah.com. With the program “Popyeah on your site”, you could insert easily and freely (…very good!) all the archive of singleplayer and multiplayer games on your site. Popyeah online games are free, extremely funny, involving and easy to play: there are a hundred of online games divided into different categories – from Word Games to Board Games, from Arcade to Billiards.

Popyeah is a very good example of what I’m sayong above: users needs a gaming experience integrated into a wide and vivid community. They want to become part of a real community that plays, talks, has fun and meets throoughout the games.

On Popyeah, users can have their own players profile, they can insert their photos, search for other players, insert them to their friends list to follow on their favourite games, communicate through the chat, the personal blog and even through Skype. These advanced community features make Popyeah platform really suitable to every site that wants to offer real entertainment to users and build a strong community.

Thanks to this affiliation program, everything is available for those site that want to host new contents dedicated to online entertainment.

Browsing this page you can choose between the different available graphical options. Clicking on the link “Code”, you will go to a page where you can set up some parameters: language, colours, other plaiyng options and then generate the code to insert into your site.

Such a simple system that allows webmaster to have an additional content with a strong impact to make your site a funny place to come and return and where users can spent their saper time enjoying themselves.
